A native of Frankfort, he was born on October 28, 1930 to the late Melvin and Willie Owens. He worked as a machine operator for Frankfort Plant Board, was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, as well as the VFW Post # 4075.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by his daughter Debbie (Keith) Curry, NC; his son Jeff Owens, Lexington; and his granddaughter Taylor (Neil) Owens, Lawrenceburg. He is preceded in death by his brothers Herbert Owens and Melvin Owens Jr.
