C. Walter Duvall, 97, of Frankfort, died Thursday morning at Symphony at Oaklawn in Louisville. A native of Sweden, Kentucky, he served as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and retired as a Purchasing Agent for Hunter Engineering Company in Riverside, California. Walter earned a bachelor’s degree in theological history and was a member of First Church of God in Frankfort.
Son of the late, Elsie Inez Houchins and C. Walter Duvall, Sr., he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie W. Duvall; son, Keith Duvall; grandson, Jason Haymond; great-grandson, Sean Haymond; four brothers and two sisters.
Walter is survived by his sons, Charles W. (Pamela) Duvall, of Menominee, MI, and Kevin Duvall, of Lewisburg, WV; daughter, Lynne D. (Brad) Haymond, of Waddy; sister, Joyce Burch, of Louisville; brother, Larry (Debbie) Duvall, of Centralia, IL; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens chapel. Tom Denny and Jeff Eaton will officiate. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home.
