Obituary for Donna Lou Riley Ball
Frankfort - Donna Lou Riley Ball, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, September 1, 2018, surrounded by family and friends.
Donna was employed by the Supreme Court of Kentucky before retiring. She was a member of the former Thornill Baptist Church.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Riley, mother, Marie Gross, and sister, Gayle Davis. She is survived by her companion of 22 years, Nelson White; her great niece, Nikki Weisflock (Josh), whom she raised; her twin brother, Col. Ronald Guy Riley, brothers, Henry Gross (Judy), Danny Riley (Laura), and Lee Riley; sisters, Jacque Noel, Judy Rucker (Alan), and Rebecca Brode (Lewis). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
Donna's two great passions were the beach and University of Kentucky basketball. She loved the sun and sand and the peace the beach gave her. It would be hard to find a bigger University of Kentucky Basketball fan than Donna. She was loyal and loving and protected all whom she loved without conditions. Family was precious to her.
Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Jumpp officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Turpin, Jim Sullivan, Artie White, Jeff Clark, Chris Watkins, and Willie Joe Slattery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601
