Dorothy Newberry

Dorothy Wells Newberry, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020. She was born January 18, 1934 in Meta, Missouri to the late Thomas and Viola Wells. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved tennis, golf, and traveling as well as her garden club and playing bridge, mahjong, and reading.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert H. Newberry; her children, Lynne (Robert) McWilliams, Frankfort, Steve Newberry, Frankfort, and Robert B. Newberry, Lexington; her sisters, Joyce (Don) Preetorius, Janet (Kevin) Plummer, and Betty Johnson, all of Jefferson City, MO; and her brothers, Dick Wells, MO, and Don (Sug) Wells, LA. She was affectionately known as Meme by her grandchildren, John Patrick (Nati) Houston, TX, Lindsey T. McWilliams, Independence, and Jordan (Lauren) Newberry, Lexington; and her great grandchildren, Lucas Mosher, Emmeline McWilliams, and Owen McWilliams.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, Frankfort. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until the time of service on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
