A native of Eolia, Kentucky, he was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in the Philippines, New Guinea and Dutch East Indies Campaigns. He was a retired vocational agriculture teacher and member of National Retired Teachers Association, Capital City Retired Teachers, and a life member of the VFW. He served as supervisor of the Franklin County Soil Conservation District for over forty years. Gardening was his favorite hobby and he strived to have the prettiest lawn in the neighborhood. He was most proud of his faithful membership at First Baptist Church where he served as deacon. The most important thing in his life was his family.
He was the son of the late Jesse W. and Lavinia Sturgill Bolling and was preceded in death by his wife, Cleota and two brothers, Conley and Shelby Bolling.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Dissette (Jim), South Haven, MI and Pamela Asher, Oak Ridge, TN.; three grandchildren, Scott Voskamp, Oak Ridge, TN, Beth Morse (Ed), New Haven, MI and Brian Dissette (Kelly), South Haven, MI and five great-grandchildren Megan and Charlie Morse, Carson, Calvin and Mairen Dissette.
