Elvena Bishop

Elvena Snow Bishop, 82, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Born on February 27, 1939 in Liberty, KY to the late Eard and Alice Napier Snow. She was the widow to the late Elmer Bishop. Elvena was a housekeeper for Woodford Hospital for 27 years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and listening to bluegrass and country music. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include two sons, E.J. Bishop and Richard Lee Bishop; one step-son, William Goble Bishop; two step-daughters, Margie Cornish and Loretta Claunch; two brothers, Ora Albert “Alboy” Snow and Vernon Lee Snow; two sisters, Lois Everett (Joe) and Myrtle Snow; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Mary, Amy, Jonathan, Anthony, Brandon, Matt and Rhonda; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bishop; parents, Eard and Alice Napier Snow; two daughters, Fayrine Stevens and Marline Carman; two step-sons, Jerry Allen Bishop and J.F. Bishop; one step-daughter, Nancy Kidd; one brother, Gomer Snow; and one sister, Opal Watson; and two other siblings who died at a young age.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 21 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Leslie Hatton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Versailles, KY.

Active Pallbearers are Ricky Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Zack Stewart, Jasmine Bishop, Brandon Bishop and Mitchell Lane.
