Obituary of Geneva Nichols
Geneva R. Nichols, born May 22, 1922, welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on February 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Lee Roberts Robinson and William J. B. Robinson; sisters Lucille Wicker and Saffell Roberts; brothers Selbert Robinson, Carl Robinson, and William Robinson, Jr.; husband Jesse M. Nichols; daughter Beverly Rucker; and son Carl Nichols. She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Campbell and Charlotte Riddle; 15 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Geneva's most beloved enjoyments included attending church at First Assembly, worshipping her Lord and Savior, and spending time with her family. She was an extraordinary cook, often preparing meals for her family and for visiting ministers during weeks of revival. Geneva grew up in Franklin County, and for several years in the 70's she and her husband ran the Malono's Pizza Palace - known for the best pizzas in town and often referred to as "the place that invented extra toppings". She also worked at Southern Moulding and retired from state government in 1987.
Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26th and from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. On Monday, February 27th. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. Monday, and Geneva will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Geneva's grandsons and great-grandsons: Brian Riddle, Shane Riddle, Bart Riddle, Johnny Campbell, Dalton Campbell, Jonathan Payton, and Shawn Savoie.
Honorary bearers will be Julian Carroll, Charlie Ellis, Larry Ellis, Doug Howard, Charles Hockensmith, Brad McGill, and Larry Black.
