Helyn Smith

Born in Georgetown, Helyn spent fifty five years working for Kentucky state government in various departments including Transportation, Kentucky State Police, child support services and Families and Children. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Fire Prevention and Accident Prevention.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar Perry and Mattie Jane Blankenship Hambrick. She was preceded in death by two husbands Harold E. McDonald and Herbert F. Smith; brothers Millard and Richard Hambrick; grandson Jonathan McDonald and sister in law Jane Scott Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Gary W. (Sandy) McDonald, Lawrenceburg and Mark E. (Betty) McDonald, Bowling Green; step-son Gary F. (Marcia) Smith, Frankfort; grandsons Patrick (Laura) McDonald and Deron McDonald; granddaughter Angela McDonald; step grandson Greg Smith, step granddaughter Laura Williamson; four great-grandchildren Eric, Jordan and Cameron McDonald and Brittany McDonald Carey.
