Henrietta Gill

Henrietta Marcella Gill, age 94, the daughter the late of Rosa and Cassius Marcellus Clay Gill, passed away on December 9, 2017. Services will be at St. John A.M.E. Church on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jermaine Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the Church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017.

Miss Gill was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 16, 1923. She worked as a secretary and payroll clerk to the Physical Plant of Kentucky State University for 24 years. Although she retired on June 30, 1989, she was persuaded to return to the workplace by her former supervisor. She continued to work part-time as a secretary accountant for the Hud Project at Kentucky State University.

We know Miss Gill as a warm, sensitive and concerned person who loved her church and pastor.

She has been an active member of the Usher Board for 52 years, has served as class leader and church secretary for four ministers: Rev. Charles, Rev. William White, Rev. Charles Richardson, and Rev. E. Mack. Though her health problems restricted her active participation, her passion and love for her church never ceased. We will miss her assistance on Second Sunday.

Miss Gill has been a member of the Believer's Club for many years. She was a responsible and dedicated member. She was also a former secretary.

If there is something to be done, and Miss Gill is asked to give of her time, effort and monetary means; "Consider it done."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Wilson and beloved aunt, Catherine B. Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marshall. She was also the loving and caring grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several cousins.
