Henry Elwood Baurle, 76, of Versailles, husband of Wanda Faye Sparkman, died Tue, Jan 19, 2021 at Georgetown Community Hospital. Born on Mar 25, 1944 in Louisville, Ky to the late Mary Edna Baurle Spencer. A 1962 New Albany High School graduate and B-52 radar technician in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was stationed in Blytheville, AR and Thailand. He devoted 43 yrs to Simplex Time Recorder (Simplex Grinnell/Tyco) where he worked extensively, from ground breaking, on Lexington Center/Rupp Arena, Ky Horse Park and Fifth Third Financial Center downtown Lexington, as well as hundreds of smaller projects. He installed and maintained the systems at Cardinal Hill Hospital, UK Medical Center and college and VA Hospital his entire career. He was a member of the American Legion and Woodford Church of Christ formerly Camden Ave Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 52 yrs, he is survived by his daughter Michele Baurle Heightchew, Versailles; granddaughter Braelyn Heightchew; grandson Teagan Heightchew; sister Sandra (Larry) Whelan New Albany, IN. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his dad Robert Spencer; siblings, Patricia Ann Baurle, Robert Wayne, Richard Lee, Michael Ray and Jeffrey Lynn Spencer. Special thanks to his amazing and compassionate nurse Christine at Georgetown Community Hospital.
Services will be held Fri, Feb. 12 at 11am at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Graveside to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thurs, Feb 11 5-7pm. Masks are required. Donations may be made to The American Legion or Vietnam Veterans of America.
