Obituary
Herland “High Pockets” Langford, 86, widower of Edith Jones Langford, passed away Wednesday November 6, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on August 28, 1933, in Liberty, Kentucky, the son of the late Elmer and Lennie Woodrum Langford. He was a retired carpenter, and enjoyed gardening and took pride in his tomatoes to share with family and friends. .
Herland will be lovingly missed by his children, Robin Phillips, Frankfort, Bobby (Melissa) Langford, Versailles, step children, Jerry (Lou) Bowman, Lawrenceburg, Dottie (Joe) Karsner, Frankfort, Allen (Lisa) Bowman, Versailles, Wanda (Bobby) Stewart, Versailles, Lexington, brother, Lewell Langford (Rita), Versailles, grandchildren, Crystal Warfield, Jason Hammonds, Cameron Hammonds, Gretchen Warfield, Piper Warfield, Charles Smith, Shannon Smith, Peyton Warfield, Tristen Warfield, and Xavier Harmon.
In addition to his parents, Herland was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Phelps, and brother, Bobby Langford.
Funeral services will be held at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be, Greg Garner, Tony Bobbitt, Cameron Hammonds, Jason Hammonds, Greg Warfield, and Timmy Collins. Honorary will be John McKinney, Charlie Smith, Charles Smith, Martin Bowman, and Robert Bowman.
