Obituary for James E. Lancaster
James E. Lancaster, 70, husband of Courtenay Wright Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, October 03, 2019. He was born in Versailles on July 12, 1949 to the late Jimmy and Martha Cloyd Lancaster. He was a former employee of Rand McNally and was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. James was a bus driver for Woodford County for over 20 years and was a member of the Selective Service Board for the State of Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Courtenay (Steve) Coonrod, Lexington, Jaime Lancaster, Versailles, and Melissa (Jeff) Hankins, Versailles; and his granddaughter, Emmaline Hankins.
He was preceded in death by his uncles, Earl and William Cloyd.
Graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. John Drinkwater will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifehouse for Animals.
