Jessie Sturgeon

Versailles- Jessie Louella Crew Sturgeon, 92, widow of Tom Sturgeon, Sr., passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was born in Spring Valley, OH on May 13, 1926 to the late Elizabeth Wiechers and Audrey Crew. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Jessie is survived by her son Tom Sturgeon, Jr., Versailles; her daughters Linda (Walter) Eades, TN; Debbie Lafoe, Versailles; Ruth (Kevin) Martin, Frankfort; her sisters Dorothy Crew, OH; Katie Crew, OH; Leahrey Smithson, OH; Betty Smithson, CA; Reva Eades, OH; her brother Johnny Crew, OH; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Elsroth; Alberta Peters; Martha Crew; Marianne Jones; Barbara Crew; and 2 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Sims will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Justin Woodson, Josh LaFoe, Tom Sturgeon III, Walter Eades, Kevin Martin, Kevin “Bubba” Martin, and Tom Sturgeon, Jr. Brent Sturgeon will serve as an honorary casketbearer. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Woodford Humane Society or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
