Obituary for John Michael Armstrong

Services for John Michael Armstrong, 71, of Frankfort, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jim Wood will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Armstrong died Friday morning at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation, where he worked in fleet management at C1 garage. He was an avid hunter, teaching hunter education, and was a member of the Sportsman’s Club. Mike was also a member of New Liberty Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
Son of the late Dora Miller and Russell Armstrong, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Armstrong; a son, Kelly M. Armstrong; sisters, Brenda Smith, Pansy Branscum, Mary Clark, and Mary Louise Armstrong; and brothers, George and Roy Armstrong.
Survivors include a son, John Armstrong, Jr., Frankfort; daughter, Lorrie Davis, Owen; step-daughter, Kathy Sharpe, Frankfort; sister, Margie Moore, Liberty; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wood, Jeremy Sharpe, Scott Sharpe, David Devore, Jr., Barry Newton and Kody Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Branscum and Richard Simpson.
