Obituary for John Thomas "JT" Mattox
Funeral services for John Thomas "JT" Mattox, 61, of Frankfort, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
JT died Monday at his residence. A native of Frankfort, he worked in the maintenance division for Peaks Mill Elementary School. He was a former employee of Southern States, Triangle Liquor and Lukjan Metal, and a member of Graefenburg Baptist Church.
JT was the son of the late John William and Dorothy Ray McGuire Mattox. Survivors include his sisters Naomi (Sandy) Wilson and Joann Mattox, Frankfort; brothers Austin "Pete" (Nina) Mattox and Ransom (Tammy) Mattox, Frankfort; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Craig, John Cook, Sandy Wilson, Clinton Mattox, Troy Biggs and Tommy Vest. Honorary pallbearer will be Shawn Mattox, Robert Blackburn, David Hutcherson, Ricky Lynn Downs, Taylor Cook and Annabelle Cook.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to his many caregivers over the last year at Bluegrass Hospice Care and a special thanks to Shirley Miller for her care for our brother over the last few weeks.
