Kevin Brian Wilkins, 52, was born on May 2, 1968 in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He passed away Monday, August 3, 2020.
He is survived by a son, Brett Andrew Wilkins, 22, a daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Wilkins, 17, and their mother, Kim Fallis Wilkins, all of Lexington, Kentucky. His sister, Karen Wilkins Schneider resides in Frankfort, Kentucky along with her children, Ryan Taylor Schneider, Lindsey Renee Schneider and their father Stephen Schneider. There are also many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews as well as many friends that loved him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Schmidt Wilkins and father Howard Harold Wilkins.
Kevin was a 1986 graduate of Franklin County High School where he played basketball, football, and was a member of the track team. He set the school record in high jump at 6’6”. He also participated in many clubs and activities.
Kevin graduated from the University of Kentucky with degrees in Business Managements and Marketing. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Most of his career was spent in the marketing field.
He enjoyed watching UK sports and attending football and basketball games with his son. He liked to hunt pheasant, quail, and dove with his dad. His favorite was duck season where he spent many winters in the duck blind in Western Kentucky.
Kevin’s passion was music. He loved to play guitar, sing, and could play any instrument by ear. He enjoyed entertaining his friends and family. He loved making everyone around him laugh and smile.
A graveside service is planned on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 12:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd will be in charge of arrangements.
