Rufus Lewis Semones, 90, husband of the late Barbara Catherine Sebree Semones, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
Lewis was born in Frankfort on March 31, 1929 to the late South and Nellie Goins Semones. He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Rogers; four grandchildren, Shane Smith, Jennifer Smith, Brianna Semones, and Brandon Semones; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Olivia Smith, Justin Smith, and Haley Kincaid; and two great-great-grandchildren, Adrian Smith and Mila Smith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Semones; four sisters, Ann Semones, Betty Sebree, Eudora Creech, and Elizabeth Semones; and two brothers, Everett Semones and Freddie Semones.
Lewis was an officer for the Frankfort Police Department for 35 years, a member of Hiram Lodge #4 F&AM, and a Shriner. He was a member of Choateville Christian Church and in his spare time enjoyed golf and bowling.
Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14th with burial following in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 13th, with a Masonic funeral service at 6:00 p.m. The lodge will open at 5:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Brandon Semones, Danny Semones, David Semones, Shane Smith, and David Anglin. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Rhodes, Skip Hockensmith, Bobby Courtney, and Gerald Sebree
