April 10, 1938 — March 24, 2017
Luther Seth Mitchell, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2017. Services for Mr. Mitchell will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Glenn Corn officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Luther was born in Stewart, Mississippi April 10, 1938, the son of the late Luther B. and Carrie Louvena Singleton Mitchell. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, a member of Glensboro Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg and retired from the Holiday Inn Corp. Luther was a KY Colonel. He enjoyed drawing landscapes, woodcarving, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren.
Luther leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Marilyn Moore Mitchell; sons, Mike Moore and Greg Moore (Cathy); his sister, Lurlene McDowell and nephew, Dennis; and extended family. He was blessed to be "Papaw" to five grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Devon and Aaron Moore and Ashley Eppolito and four great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Ayden, Joseph and Briley.
His sons and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
