Funeral services for Marvin “Boots” Thomas, 84, of Frankfort, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Everett Hawkins will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Marvin died Friday morning at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born in Frankfort to the late Marvin Daniel and Ada Potts Thomas, he served as a member of the United States Army, before going on to work for Aramark Linen Service. He also had worked at Noonan’s Grocery Store and was a Courier for Farmer’s Bank. He attended Faith Baptist Church. Marvin enjoyed watching U.K. Basketball games, and NASCAR, as well as spending time at the Kentucky River.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margaret Jean Tyson, and Celesta Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thomas, of Frankfort; two daughters, Barbara Thomas (Mark) Warnick, Frankfort, and Cheryl Thomas (Kenny) Bobzien, Versailles; grandchildren, Tony Warnick, Lindsay Warnick, Kelsey Bobzien (Billy) King, and Connor Bobzien; brother, James D. (Frances) Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dan Thomas, Shawn Thomas, Kenny Bobzien, Mark Warnick, Connor Bobzien, and Larry McNees. Honorary pallbearers will include Tony Marnick, Russ Faulconer, and Greg Van.
