Michael Sutherland

Michael “Mouse” Wayne Sutherland, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, August 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time on Monday.

Mouse was born in Frankfort on November 12, 1955, to the late James Paul Sutherland and Mary Louise Smith Sutherland. He was a self-employed and self-proclaimed “Floorologist,” working in carpet installation. During his younger years, he loved playing softball. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and horseback riding. Mouse was an avid University of Kentucky basketball and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his beloved children, Nickie Wright (Chris) and Michael Sutherland, Jr. (Kristina Hamilton); siblings, Kathy Marshall (Phillip), Bo Sutherland (Barbie), and Sandra Sallee (James); grandchildren, Haylie Sutherland, Madison Tincher, Bailee Goins, Lily Sutherland, Taylor Sutherland, and Dalton Sutherland, and significant other, Janet Coomer. He was also blessed with several nieces and a nephew, as well as his beloved dog, Chubs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Ray Sutherland.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Luttrell, Charles Thornton, Bo Sutherland, Kevin Rodgers, Chris Wright, and Bobby Hutcherson. Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Smith, Doobie Smith, Scotty Smith, Buck Jackson, Bobby Bickers, Steven Wagner, Smitty Smith, and Chris Hellard.
