Nola Katherine Howard Hulker was born June 18, 1916, to Stella Johnson Howard and Harrison Howard, Stamping Ground, Kentucky. She passed away September 21, 2017 in Frankfort.
She retired from the Department of Education, Commonwealth of Kentucky. Prior to service with the Department of Education, she was employed with Genesco, Frankfort, Kentucky.
She is survived by daughter, Rose Carolyn Barbour, Frankfort, Kentucky, and Paul Wayne Hulker, residing in Florida; grandchildren, David, Kathy, and Max, and five great-grandchildren, David Leonard, Brandon Leonard, Hollie Greene, and Amber and Tana Barbour.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hulker; sisters, Ruby Frances and Geneva Pearl Howard.
At time of death, Katherine was the oldest member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she had been an active member since November 9, 1947. She had served as a Sunday School Teacher, WMU Circle Leader, Choir Member, and various committees.
Services will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes Street, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. William Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary will be the Active Deacons of Memorial Baptist Church and her great-granddaughters, Amber, Tara, and Hollie.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Memorial Baptist Church in her memory.
