Funeral services for Patsy Cardwell Bates, 74, of Frankfort will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pastor Terry Gillum will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Ms. Bates died Friday morning at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. Patsy spent a great deal of time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals, was an avid Bunco enthusiast, and enjoyed bonfires, camping and traveling.
Daughter of the late Wilma and P.D. Cardwell, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bates, Sr., son, James Bates, II and sister, Lula Cardwell Curry. Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Pike, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Megan Bates, Frankfort, Amanda Pike, Lawrencburg, Michael Pike, Frankfort, Eddie Dearinger, Jr., Lawrenceburg, and Gina Lopez, Frankfort; great-grandchildren, Eddie Dearinger III, Autumn Dearinger, Kayden Lopez, Natalie Dearinger, and Elijah Pike; and special friend, Bill Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pike, Eddie Dearinger, Jr., Paul Curry, Wayne Hammond, Matt Woolums, and Andy Woolums. Honorary pallbearers are Katlin Woolums, Eddie Dearinger, III, and Travis Bryant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen, Dept. 41831, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
