Frankfort – Robert “Bob” Clement Banks, age 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at home. Services will be held at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Todd Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Mr. Banks was born in Frankfort on December 15, 1947, to the late James Filson Banks, Sr., and Velma Irene Spainhower Banks. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Banks worked at South Central Bell in telecommunications and retired from the University of Kentucky as a Telecommunications Supervisor. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. As an avid Harley Davidson fan, he enjoyed rides on his motorcycle. He had a talent for photography, taking beautiful photos of Kentucky and Illinois scenery. He served on the board of the A.L.S. Association Kentucky Chapter, and was passionate about charities of all kinds.
He is survived by his son, Robert K. Banks; brothers, James F. Banks, Jr. (Rebecca Carol) and David C. Banks (Elsie Miller); step-grandson, Kolby Nesselrode. He was also blessed with several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be L.T. West, Craig Rogers, Mike Hampton, John Fuller, Bill Dixon, Jim Bissell, and Marla Boyd.
Flowers are welcome and expressions of sympathy may be made to the A.L.S. Association Kentucky Chapter, 8640 Haines Dr, Florence, KY 41042.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
