Obituary for Ronald D. Thornton

Ronald D. Thornton, 73, passed away on Tuesday, October 01, 2019. A native of Franklin County, he was born on November 11, 1945 to the late Vernon and Ersie Redding Thornton. He retired from LRC and was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam.
He is survived by his children, Michael J. (Joan) Thornton, Lawrenceburg, and Rahni (Dylan) Sumner, CA; his sisters, Charlotte Burch, and Cheryl Campbell; his brothers, Wayne Thornton, Lawrenceburg, Richard Thornton, TN, and Stephen Thornton, Frankfort; and his granddaughter, Mattie Louise Gayhart-Kasinger.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Rev. David Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Quentin Gayhart-Kasinger, Shannon Thornton, Perry Shouse, Max Shouse, Dexter Shouse, and Roger Shouse. Honorary casketbearers will be Mattie Gayhart-Kasinger, Dylan Sumner, and Ronald’s nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 2:00pm on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
