Ruby Robinson

Ruby Alliene Dixon Robinson, age 86, passed away at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Services for Mrs. Robinson will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Weaver officiating, assisted by Pastor Philip Meade and Dr. Jay Padgett. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Robinson was born in Ashland, Kentucky on February 22, 1931 to the late Everett E. and Sarah Crance Dixon. She was a lifelong devoted and loving wife to her husband, Berl Allen Robinson, Sr., who also preceded her in death. Alongside him, she worked at Robinson Oil Company until he became too ill to work. Together, they served the Masonic Hiram Lodge #4, Eastern Stars Hiram Lodge #4 and Frankfort Boat Club. As a family, they spent many years boating on the Kentucky River with their son, Berl, Jr. In addition, she was member Farmdale Baptist Church, where she served on the kitchen committee for many years and played the piano. She enjoyed crafting, decorating, and being a homemaker. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Verna Parsons, Genevieve Murray and Drusella Wheatley and her brothers, Arvil Dixon, Everett E. Dixon, Jr., and George Edward Dixon.

She is survived by her son, Berl Robinson Jr., (Sharon E.); by three grandchildren, Allen Robinson (JoAnna), Kurt Russell Robinson, and Jessica Carol Robinson and by one brother, Pastor Amos Dixon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Robinson, Jay Padgett, David Robinson, Charles Allen Wilkerson, Louis Hammonds, and Rick Woodside. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Farmdale Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
